WHAT IS ACTIVE MINDS
AT LAFAYETTE COLLEGE?

Active Minds strives to raise mental health awareness on Lafayette's campus through various events, speakers, and activities. The events not only raise awareness of the mental health issues, but also attempt to give students enough knowledge about the various disorders so they can identify symptoms within themselves or others and seek help. In addition, at high risk times, such as during finals weeks, we try to provide events that will reduce the potential for the occurrence of mental disorder symptoms. We hope to serve as a point of reference for students about mental illness in hopes of reducing the stigma on our campus. In addition, we have already accomplished creating a firm student relationship with the Counseling Center and we hope to be able to use the relationship to make students more aware of the resources available at Lafayette. Finally, we also give back to the mental health community through fundraising events to help those suffering from mental disorders receive the appropriate information and treatment necessary for survival.
